ACAP most commonly refers to the Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program. It is the statewide testing program used in Alabama public schools to measure student progress.
Who takes it: Students in Grades 2 through 8 take the English/Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics portions. Grades 4, 6, and 8 also take the Science portion.
When: It is administered fully online during the spring semester.
Preparation: Students and parents can practice using the testing interface and tools with the Formative ACAP Practice Tests.
Alternate Assessments: The program also includes the ACAP Alternate, designed for students with the most significant cognitive disabilities.
