     Students can practice to write daily with seasonal creative topics. 

10 Online Tools to Engage Kids in Writing- Minds in Bloom

      Ten really great online tools for getting kids more engaged in writing.

* Writing Games- Fun English Games

     Check out these fun writing games for kids. Enjoy a range of free activities, resources and practice

     exercises related to writing letters, stories, newspapers, debates, advertising and instructions. 

* Visual Dictionary and Visual Thesaurus- Visuwords

     Look up words to find their meanings and associations with other words and concepts. Produce

     diagrams reminiscent of a neural net. Additionally, learn how words associate.

Digital Storytelling- StoryboardThat

     For free, your kids can create 2 stories a week. There are other options, but I like the free option, because your

     kids can write comics and create scenes to a movie and so much more. There are thousands of graphics to choose from.

 

 

Reading

     Students can read to themselves or listen to books read aloud. The books are leveled so your students can make sure they’re

     reading a “just right” book and the titles they offer are AWESOME! 

Storyline Online

     Storyline Online streams videos featuring celebrated actors reading popular children’s books aloud.

     Each book comes with a helpful activity guide- all FOR FREE!  

FunBrain

     Funbrain, created for kids age preschool through grade 8, offers more than 100 fun, interactive games that develop

     skills in math, reading, and literacy. Plus, kids can read a variety of popular books and comics on the site, including

     Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Amelia Writes Again, and Brewster Rocket.
