To guide students toward an appreciation for the worth of life, an enthusiasm for learning and the desire to become a contributing member of society. The Macon County Public School System believes that the primary aim of the Comprehensive Guidance Program is to provide an opportunity for all students to develop self-worth, wise personal/social, educational, emotional and career/vocational decisions. Students are provided with opportunities to gain an understanding of self and others, to participate in educational and occupational exploration, and to pursue career planning opportunities in an environment that is safe, caring, and encouraging.
The comprehensive counseling and guidance program provided by the counselor at Tuskegee Public School are based on the following tenets:
1. Identify educational needs of the individual students regardless of level.
2. Assure appropriate academic placement in the instructional program.
3. Provide motivation for academic, personal, social, and career/vocational growth.
4. Every student has the right to participate in a comprehensive school counseling and
guidance program designed to assist all students in attaining their maximum
potential in academic, career, and personal/social development.
