Mrs. Porterfield’s Class Discipline Plan

Being a highly qualified educator, I believe that establishing a discipline plan is of the utmost importance. I believe that I have the right to teach, and that your child has the right to learn in a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment. My classroom discipline plan is designed to coincide with the guidelines established by the system-wide Code of Student Behavior. Please review this plan with your child and discuss the importance of good conduct.

Class Expectations:

  1. Follow directions
  2. Raise your hand and wait to be called on
  3. Respect other students’ property
  4. Stay on task
  5. Always do your best

Consequences:

  1. Warning
  2. Receive a conduct check because of failure to meet expectations
  3. Send note home and/or call parent
  4. Parent Conference
  5. Office Referral

Rewards:

  1. Verbal Praise
  2. Positive phone call or note to parent
  3. Homework pass or free-time during class

*Major infractions may change the order of consequences.
