Reading/English Language 

The Elementary School recently purchased a common-core aligned reading program from Pearson called, Reading Street.  The program offers a balance of complex fiction and informational texts.  The increased rigor of the program will help students meet the new common-core standards. 

 
This program has been divided up into units that consist of weekly stories. Each Monday, I will introduce students to their new story for the week. There will also be a set of spelling words, a grammar skill, and a comprehension skill that correspond with the weekly story. Students will take their end of week assessments on Friday. (This schedule may change when we have short weeks.)
