Celebrate Dr. Seuss' Birthday week @Tuskegee Institute Middle School. On Monday, February 27, there was The Artist and Author Day. On Tuesday, there was Good Seuss Deeds Day. On Wednesday, there will be Seuss Advocate Day. On Thursday, February 29th (leap year day), there will be Dress Like A Seuss Character Day. And, on Friday, March 1st, there will be a Celebration of Dr. Seuss!. See the attached flyer for details of the scheduled activities.
The Booker T. Washington High School “College Workshop” was a success. Over 250 parents and students participated in this event. The crowd was educated on the financial aid process by Mrs. Willetta Ellis Conner from the State Department of Education. Students and Parents were able to meet with Admissions representatives from Alabama State University, Tuskegee University, Southern Union Community College and Trenholm Tech. The military branches such as the National Guard and Army were on hand for those students interested in the military.
Booker T. Washington High School celebrates Read Across America Week February 27th – March 2nd 2012 ......"Oh, The Places You'll Go!".... This week is an exciting week. We're off to Great Places!” Each day we will celebrate reading in a special way!
The Beta Kappa chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc hosted Big Brothers and Sisters Day at Tuskegee University. Several students from the Macon County School System participated. This also gave the Fraternity Brothers an opportunity to mentor some younger students via this very worthy service project.

Jasmine Yelder is the February Student of the Month for Macon County Public Schools. She is a 4th grade honor roll student at D. C. Wolfe Elementary School. A member of Big Union Christian Church in Hayneville, Alabama, Jasmine loves to read and play computer games. She spends her time riding her bike and jumping on her trampoline. She also helps her family out by babysitting her younger cousin. Jasmine's teachers describe her as respectful and a model, high achieving student who shows great sportsmanship and leads by example. Congratulations, Jasmine!
